I Fell Asleep on Launch Day
Congratulations on your new job as Launch Operator at one of the top 100 space agencies world wide: MARK (Mechanical Aeronautics Reconnaissance Kompany)! It's your job to remotely configure the rocket for launch. This includes safely guiding the Fuel and Liquid Oxygen (LOX) to the Combustion Chamber, and providing the astronaut with Oxygen as well. And as luck may have it, your first day on the job is also LAUNCH DAY.
The only problem is... you just fell asleep. You have no excuses, you just partied a little bit too hard last night, celebrating your new job. You just woke up at your dashboard with only one minute to spare, to an orchestra of warnings and blinking lights. The Cockpit is almost out of Oxygen, the tubes are contaminated with dust, and the Fuel Injector is without Fuel. Can you fix the problems before launch?
Luckily, you have your trusty computer, BROWN (Brain-Like Replicated Operational Witty Noggin') to assist you.
Credits
Tanoshee Games did all the the art, animation and sound mixing. He also did the programming related to sound effects and animation, and some additional programming. He also created the font used for all the static text panels.
Mishvi was the project lead, the lead programmer and the writer.
All code and art was created without the use of gen-AI, during the GMTK Game Jam 2026 with the theme "Countdown".
Third Party Assets Used:
- Unity
- ThaleaFat font for the Computer, Warning Panels and Fluid Volume Panels.
- Various sound effects from Freesound.org
- Song used is Division by Kevin MacLeod
Instruction Manual
Operator, thanks for reading the instruction manual! I, BROWN, will explain everything you need to know about how to get this rocket started! :D
Goal
Your goal is to guide the Fuel and Liquid Oxygen (LOX) to the Combustion Chamber.
Schematic View
The big panel on your left is the schematic view that shows the inner tube network of the rocket. Pressing the hatches will open and close them.
Warnings
The warning lights in the bottom left of your dashboard indicate problems that need to be solved before launch. If you press a warning light, I will explain the problem. I might also tell you even if you don't ask.
Fluids
These fluids will explode if they mix with each other, or with water inside the tubes.
Colors
In the schematic view, yellow tubes contain Fuel, Green tubes contain Liquid Oxygen and Blue tubes contain water. If you see red tubes, it means a contaminant is present.
Fuel
Hydrogen is cooled to −253°C so that it can cool parts like the nozzle and the Combustion Chamber wall before being burned as fuel. Pretty "cool", right? How is that for "Dual Purpose Design"?
Liquid Oxygen (LOX)
Liquid Oxygen is used together with the fuel to create combustion, but it is also used to provide the crew with breathable air. It first needs to be converted to gaseous form by the Life Support System.
Water
Water is used to clean the pipes if dust or other residual contaminants are found. Contaminants are indicated in red on the schematic view.
Life Support
Converts Liquid Oxygen to breathable air. The indicator on the Schematic View shows how much Oxygen is left. Keep it above zero, or your collegue will end up dead.
Injectors
The Fuel / LOX Injectors are used to inject Fuel / LOX into the Combustion Chamber. This fine and precise machinery is very vulnerable and will explode if any fluid other than its indicated fluid enters it.
Injector Volumes
The Injectors require a specific volume of Fuel / LOX at launch time to function. The Fuel Injector must have a volume between 50 and 60, and the LOX Injector must have a volume between 40 and 70.
Turbopumps
The Turbopumps are used to dramatically increase the pressure of the Fuel / Liquid Oxygen. The pressure must be high in order for the fluids to reach the Combustion Chamber.
Combustion Chamber
This is where the magic happens! Hydrogen and Liquid Oxygen are injected at incredibly high pressure, combined and burned to create the intense heat and power necessary for launch.
Nozzle
This is the exit point of the energy built up in the Combustion Chamber. It gets extremely hot, and needs to be cooled by the supercooled Fuel at all times during launch. Also, some genius put a hatch in the exit tube.

This is a very cool puzzle game! Love the lil death screen messages lol
I love this! I have this bookmarked for later so I can try and get a rocket launch…
If you follow B.R.O.W.N.'s instructions, I'm sure you can do it :)
Great game! Clever and challenging!
Great game, I love the ideia, and check out my game too Time apart
this is genuinely my favourite game ive seen so far you gotta get featured
